Terms of Service
Last updated: June 14, 2026
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of NotationAI — our mobile apps (iOS and Android), our web application and our website at notationai.app (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
NotationAI is a music-notation tool. It lets you capture melodies (from your voice or an instrument) into editable musical notation, refine scores with AI assistance (such as arranging, harmonization and practice features), collaborate on a score in real time, and import or export common formats including MusicXML, MIDI, PDF and PNG.
AI-generated output is provided to assist you and is not guaranteed to be accurate, complete or suitable for any particular purpose. You are responsible for reviewing and editing any notation before relying on it.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be able to form a binding contract to use the Service. If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
Some features require an account; others may be available without one. We may add, change or remove features over time.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- upload or create content you do not have the rights to, or that infringes others’ rights;
- use the Service to violate any law or any third party’s intellectual-property or privacy rights;
- attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, scrape or overload the Service or its infrastructure;
- resell or redistribute the Service, or share paid features in violation of your plan.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of the music, recordings and scores you create or upload (“Your Content”). You grant NotationAI a limited license to host, process, transmit and display Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service for you — for example, to transcribe a recording, render a score, or sync a collaborative session.
When you collaborate via a share link, people you invite can view and edit the shared score. You are responsible for who you share links with.
5. Plans, subscriptions and billing
NotationAI offers a free tier and a paid “Pro” subscription. Pricing for the web is shown on our Pricing page. Subscriptions renew automatically for the billing period you choose (monthly, quarterly or yearly) until you cancel. The yearly plan includes a 3-day free trial; if you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription begins and the plan fee is charged.
Payments and subscriptions purchased on the web are processed by Creem, our merchant of record. Purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play are processed by those stores and are also subject to their terms.
Cancellation and refund terms are described in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
6. Intellectual property
The Service — including its software, design, logos and content we provide — is owned by NotationAI and its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights in the Service other than the limited right to use it as permitted here.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that AI-generated notation will be accurate, that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will meet your requirements.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, NotationAI will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or revenue, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that could harm us, other users or third parties. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as ownership, disclaimers and limitation of liability) will survive.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which NotationAI operates, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that jurisdiction.
